Welcome to the All Kind Animal Initiative Internship Program! Our internship program offers a unique opportunity for students and aspiring professionals to gain hands-on experience in animal welfare and nonprofit operations. Interns work closely with our dedicated staff and volunteers, contributing to the day-to-day operations of our shelter while participating in meaningful projects that directly impact homeless pets in our community.
Our internship program is currently being restructured as we work to expand and improve opportunities for future interns. We are excited about the direction the program is heading and look forward to offering valuable educational experiences that help inspire the next generation of animal welfare professionals.

Our Internship Program offers hands-on experience in animal welfare while providing meaningful opportunities to learn about shelter operations, records management, organizational systems, and community impact. Interns work alongside our dedicated team, gaining real-world experience through daily shelter activities and special projects.
Throughout their internship, participants will complete a guided project focused on areas such as animal enrichment, improving reunification outcomes, or supporting data-driven initiatives that help strengthen our organization and better serve pets and people in our community.

Data Insights & Impact Internship
Improve shelter data accuracy, reporting systems, and operational insights through record auditing, research, and data analysis
Develop and implement a data-focused improvement project with measurable outcomes and recommendations for leadership
Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, reporting systems, and animal welfare programs while supporting lifesaving outcomes for dogs and cats in care
Enrichment Specialist Internship
Design and implement enrichment programs for dogs and cats through research, hands-on testing, tracking systems, and volunteer training tools.
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to improve animal wellbeing, behavior outcomes, adoptability, and long-term program sustainability.
Present findings and recommendations to leadership while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and behavior enrichment programming.
Outcomes Specialist Internship
Research and implement strategies to improve lost pet reunification, reduce length of stay for animals, and strengthen community recovery systems.
Collaborate with staff and the community to track outcomes, improve visibility for long-stay pets, and support data-driven lifesaving initiatives.
Present project findings and recommendations to leadership while gaining hands-on experience in animal welfare outcomes and nonprofit operations.
